Ingredients

500gr of beefy seitan

250gr of mushrooms

200mL of soy cream

4 tbsp of soy sauce

1 tbsp of olive oil

2 cloves of garlic
-
1 small onion
-
1 tsp of rosemary
-
1/2 tsp of black pepper
Directions
My dear grandmother, who took care of me and my brother when we were little, often used to cook steak with mushrooms. We loved it and always asked for a second plate.
This is my vegan version of my grandmother’s recipe.
Note: Of course, it will never be as good as grandma’s (grandma’s recipes are and will be always superior).

In a container, place the beefy seitan cut in slices (approximately 1/2 cm thick) and add the soy sauce. Put the container in the fridge for 30 minutes; |

Meanwhile, wash and slice the mushrooms, the onion and mince the garlic; |

Heat a frying pan on medium heat. When ut´s hot, add the olive oil, garlic, and mushrooms. Sautée for 5-7min. |

Add the steaks with the respective sauce and then pour in the soy cream, black pepper and rosemary. Reduce the heat and cook until the sauce thickens. Serve immediately with white rice. |
